Glazed ceramic (Ehyaeei) is a working technique obtained from the use of copper oxide and silver nitrate on clay objects. During the baking phase, by adding a smoked substance such as wood, grease or similar materials, a chemical reaction gives a dark red brick colour to ceramic and terracotta elements, as well as a metallic appearance, such as copper. The oven produces carbon monoxide which, due to its volatility, is quickly combined with the oxygen in the copper oxide, maintaining this special aesthetic quality.
