Il Gioiello del Tombolo was born in Scanno – a famous destination for photographers and artists – in 2012 by Federica Silvani and Francesco Rotolo, respectively a lacemaker and a goldsmith, who decided to join together and create something unique that smells of eternity thanks to an ancient art, the tombolo, and precious materials such as gold and silver.

The historic master lacemaker of Scanno reveals tricks and passes on traditions and secrets to Federica who makes them her own, even giving life to a new technique that experts in the sector call Microtombolo.

From this painstaking passion jewels come to life: Federica weaves small laces with laminated threads, masterpieces that are then anchored by Francesco with a “Metallic perforated anchoring system for textile work”, in specific patented gold and silver structures: this is Il Gioiello del Tombolo. Years of research, work of experimentation and passion emerge in each creation of Gioiello del Tombolo that takes days, weeks and sometimes months to be made.
