Porritiello Rame e Acciaio was founded in 1934 in Sant’Anastasia (NA) on the initiative of the founder Luigi Porritiello, an experienced and willing craftsman who put to good use his innate skill in copper processing.
Initially, the founder was only concerned with making known and commercialize the batteries of copper pots throughout Campania and commissioned the work of skilled craftsmen who concentrated in the historical part of the country.
The flourishing trade allowed a strong professional growth of the local workers who around the 70s began to finish the pots with the typical beating exclusively for the Porritiello family, led in the meantime by his son Natale. He thought to start with his own workers the first step of the process: he bought the first lathe to feel the copper, from the initial disc shape to the profile of the pots, in different and various models.
In the ’80s, the decline of external orders for small craftsmen finishers, led Natale to hire them directly in the new complex, now more active than ever, giving a commendable example of “common” artisan, a real defense of a noble art in great danger of extinction.
The challenge of Natale was met brilliantly by his son Luigi, current owner of the company, who over the last few years has consolidated the work of his father, continuing to qualify and expand the market and the range of products, introducing also objects in Stainless Steel produced in series up to the exclusive line of Tables and Gazebos furniture in Copper-Stainless Steel, both Friggitorìa, both Bracerìa, and Carretto Gelati going so to enrich the most beautiful and special gardens of Villas for ceremonies and events in Italy and abroad, conquering the field of professional catering quality.
In recent months, Luigi, in addition to highly personalised work, has decided to relaunch the concept of the traditional cookware battery in an elite version: hand-typing, excellent finishes, brilliant tinning and renewable over time. These characteristics have made our Company become Leader of the sector.
